When looking at my topic I chose a few videos that were about teen pregnancy. They really stood out to me because in the videos, they discuss facts on teen pregnancy and even though not all of them took into consideration of the role of the older male, they still had excellent information. A student for her health class created the Teen Pregnancy PSA video and it had music to it that reminds me of what you would think after finding out about becoming pregnant. It related to the research question that I had about how women feel when they find out they are pregnant. All of the other videos pretty much answered the same question and that is one of the main reasons that I chose the videos that I did. I also found another video on a speech by a woman; a former teen mother and that created the Informative Speech on Teen Pregnancy video. “One morning in a high school bathroom before school started the 17 year old went into a stall and took a pregnancy test to find that in fact she was pregnant.” (George).
I was able to find both of these videos and even though they weren’t exactly what I was looking for they still showed what the feelings of teen pregnancy was like and all the issues that come with it. I also found another video about the topic about teen pregnancy. It had the song by Kenny Chesney that I found that talks about having a child at a young age. “There goes my life, there goes my future, my everything, I might as well kiss it goodbye, and there goes my life.”(Kenny Chesney). He talks about the fact of having a child at a young age and this ties into my topic very well because it is the point of view from the male side of all situations.
In all of the videos above you will see the effects of teen pregnancy. I was very difficult to find any pictures or actual video with older males involved that would be appropriate for my blog. The four videos chosen for my topic are all relevant to the main topic. The song and speeches that I found were from people who encountered the situation. I was amazed that many of the things that I found were not about older men being involved with teen pregnancy when seven out of ten births have fathers older than twenty-one.
